Synopsis of the Movie Thor
In 965 AD, Odin, lord of Asgard, takes up arms against the Frost Giants of Jotunheim and their chief Laufey, to keep them from overcoming the Nine Realms, beginning with Earth. The Asgardian heroes rout the Frost Giants in Tønsberg, Norway, and hold onto the wellspring of their force, the Casket of Ancient Winters.
In the present,[N 2] Odin’s child Thor gets ready to rise to the high position of Asgard, however is hindered when Frost Giants, subtly permitted in by his sibling Loki, endeavor to recover the Casket.
